Happy Grace Potter Day

Hot damn: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals released their latest (and self-titled) album yesterday, their first since This Is Somewhere in 2007. Here’s a taste, in which Grace gets her Joplin on and the band kicks every ass within earshot.

If all five of ’em had gone supernova at the end of that, I wouldn’t have been surprised.

Scott Malchus of Popdose reviews the album here. If you plan to buy it, you can download the whole thing at Amazon.com for $5.99. Not a typo: five-ninety-nine. There’s probably that much lost in your couch cushions right now. (If your couch is especially large, you can fork over an extra buck for the CD.) Alas, the band’s current tour isn’t bringing them particularly close to me—hello, Summerfest, what’s up with that?—which is too bad, because they burned the joint down when I saw them in ’07.

I’m taking the rest of the day off to listen. You’re on your own from here.

  1. This is oh so good. I’m doing my clicking at Amazon a little later today; I should have the CD in my grubby mitts by sometime next week, and we’ll call it a national holiday.
